Game over for Google's monopoly?
Google has been keeping a rather firm grip on search and advertising, and now a US judge has ruled its business practices in this arena to be unlawful, pointing to the tech giant's expenditure of billions to secure its search engine as the default across browsers and smartphones, and leveraging its dominance to suppress competition. Unsurprisingly, parent company Alphabet is set to challenge the ruling, but change looks inevitable.

Musk's X-tremes
The DealBook Summit 2023 saw Elon Musk addressing the so-called "advertiser boycott" on X, telling advertisers not to advertise on X (with a bonus 'Go f**k yourself’). Eight months later, on Tuesday X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced that the company has filed an antitrust lawsuit against a group of advertisers for choosing not to advertise on the platform, a move X claims has deprived the company of billions in revenue.
