Additions to GAIA Voice give publishers and media greater control over spoken-word content derived from text, as well as the ability to publish content to listeners in more than 40 languages.
Glide Publishing Platform is pleased to announce the release of several new features to its GAIA Voice tools, which enhance audio versions of articles and the ability to speak to audiences in new languages.
To improve fine-tuning of audio content, Glide CMS users can now create audio templates which allow custom reading formats and tailored listening experiences, even where these are different from the text article used to create the audio file.
Glide CPO Richard Fairbairn explained: "GAIA Voice is really useful at getting audio to your listeners quickly and at low cost.
"To expand on that, we have created tools to 'edit' audio so it can be listened to in a way that is different from the text version – but without the hassle of editing actual audio files.
"Now, if you want to change the ordering on a written article when it is spoken aloud, for example to raise the prominence of the author in the audio version, omit a certain part of the article such as data or the standfirst, or say things not included in the original article text, that is easy to do.
"We don't think delivering accessibility improvements to audiences should come with a lot of extra work, and those audiences should get the best listening experiences. These new features make that more achievable."
In addition to the new audio templating features is the ability to generate audio content in multiple languages, adding to the expansive internationalisation tools already within Glide CMS.
Publishers and media companies can now instantly create audio versions of articles in 41 different languages and dialects, with options to select gender and speaking style in a wide variety of lifelike voices.
Fairbairn continued: "GAIA Translate already makes it easy to create content in various languages, and the addition of multilingual audio adds massive new power to reach your audience in whatever language they speak.
"What I especially like is the differences within the same language groups – so you could easily cater to European Spanish, US Spanish, and South American Spanish, or Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese – with the right intonations and vocabulary to suit the differences between them."
Like other GAIA features and capabilities, there is no developer hassle or bespoke integration necessary – simply activate the feature in settings and start using it.
GAIA Voice is part of a suite of AI-assisted features already in Glide Publishing Platform, which allow choice from more than 20 Large Language and Image Models, and keep your data out of training sets.
